Peralada is ready for the reveal!

The Hotel Peralada Wine Spa & Golf underwent a complete renovation during the first half of the year. The interiors, including the 53 rooms and 2 suites, the four gourmet restaurants, the communal areas, and the reception area, as well as the Wine Spa health centre, have all been redesigned by the prestigious interior designer Sandra Tarruella from the firm Tarruella-Trench Studio.

The changes affect the food offerings as well. Castell Peralada Restaurant is the gourmet restaurant at the Peralada Resort which opened its doors on the 8th of July of this year. Xavier Sagristà, with the collaboration of chef Joan Moreno of the Casino Peralada and maître Toni Gerez, has designed the fare with a contemporary take on the cuisine from the Empordà based on the quality of the products from that region, from both the land and the Mediterranean.

With these renovations, the Peralada Resort reaffirms its focus on meeting tourism clients. In just one venue, they can enjoy a variety of rooms and spaces where they can hold meetings, conferences or company celebrations. The Hotel Peralada Golf & Spa also features benchmark gourmet cuisine and leisure options like the Wine Spa and the sports facilities, including a fully-equipped 18-hole golf course.

Invasion of the “burricletes” (Catalan e-bikes)

There are more than 100 of them, all of them identical and available for activities in which people who know how to ride a bicycle can participate without being left behind.

Lately we have glimpsed them travelling around the area, taking cruise passengers who arrived in the Port of Palamós along the route that leaves from the port and goes to Pals via the Mini-Train Route. We have also spotted an expedition of almost 100 participants on the Empordà plain and along the coast, the members of a Swedish company in the human resources sector…

You can find the people in charge at the activities company Ocitània.

Olot to host an international conference on volcanoes

The International Volcanology and Geochemical Society chose Olot as the venue for its forthcoming conference, which will be held in March 2018.

The candidacy of the capital city of La Garrotxa convinced the organisers because of the great conditions it offers for this kind of conference, with good accommodations and enough rooms to host the more than 150 researchers from around the world who will gather, attracted by the prestige of the local geology as well.
