This was the second time we attended the Pure Meetings & Events workshop, targeting the French market’s business tourism sector.
We were able to hold 16 interviews and made more than 20 new contacts with managers of events agencies and professional organisers from companies in the insurance, automotive and telecommunications industries, among others.
We were very pleased to meet again with some of the agencies that have already taken part in previous promotional activities organised by the Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau, who asked to talk with us to maintain contact and learn about the new proposals offered by the destination and its members.
A number of these members, such as The Costa Golf & Beach Resort, Peralada Resort and Lloret Convention Bureau, joined us in presenting the meetings and events offering to one of the Girona destination’s priority target markets, which perceives our destination as a good option for their clients, both for its proximity and its competitive price and quality, compared with the large European capitals.
Among the most highly rated aspects, they highlighted the good connections by various means of transport (Girona, Barcelona and Perpignan airports, TGV and by road), as well as the attractive and diverse activity programmes and scenery available close by, within the destination.
This perception was especially positive among agencies wishing to stand out and create bespoke events at alternative destinations.
The encounter generated two direct business requests and four requests for information for annual events programmed by business tourism operators.
