Between the sea and the mountains, Girona is a city full of charm and well communicated, just 37 minutes from Barcelona by high-speed train and 60 km from the French border.

It has two large infrastructures, the Fira de Girona and the Girona Conference Centre, that complement each other to host large-scale congresses and events.

This great congress complex of 30,000 m2 is located in the Devesa Park, a protected green zone perfectly connected with the city, 10 minutes from its historic centre or the high-speed train station.

Girona’s rich heritage includes unique places linked to its history and fully equipped to hold gala dinners, cocktail receptions and events that can count on specialised professional services and a diversity of accommodation options to offer an unforgettable experience for congress organisers and participants.

Figueres, the capital of the Empordà region, is a perfect spot for holding congresses and meetings. It is less than an hour from Barcelona and twenty minutes from both France and the Cap de Creus Natural Park, where the Pyrenees descend into the sea.

Among the city’s many attractions, pride of place goes to the Salvador Dalí Theatre-Museum, the world’s largest Surrealist work. The local gastronomy and landscapes complete a genuine offer of ideal spaces for holding congresses and meetings.

The Catalan Art Nouveau-style El Jardí Theatre is the city’s principal stage venue, with a capacity for around a thousand spectators. The Castle of Sant Ferran, Europe’s largest 17th-century fortress, has interior rooms and spaces fully equipped for events and meetings, and it also offers spectacular locations for large open-air events.

For small and medium-format meetings, the city has captivating places like the historic Capuchin Auditory, now completely renovated with the latest technical installations for hosting a variety of events and activities. La Cate, considered a cultural asset of national interest, has also been restored to host events for up to 300 participants.

Three proposals beside the sea

Located in a privileged part of the Costa Brava, Lloret de Mar boasts a long tradition of tourism. With 6,000 four- and five-star hotel places and two large venues for organising congresses and conventions beside the sea, the Lloret Theatre and the Olympic Congress Centre, making it an ideal setting for corporate and associative events.

Lloret de Mar’s rich natural and cultural assets include attractive spaces like the Santa Clotilde Gardens and its renowned beaches. The town offers a wide variety of gastronomic pleasures and leisure activities all year round for organising your programme.

Roses offers all the attractions of a first-rate tourism destination in an incomparable natural setting, bordered by two natural parks, the Cap de Creus headland and the Aiguamolls de l’Empordà wetlands, along with many idyllic coves strung along the coastline.

In addition to the Roses Congress Centre, monuments like the Citadel of Roses and the Castle of La Trinitat have indoor rooms with everything needed to host events of small and medium format, and spaces for large open-air events.

Maritime activity forms the heart and soul of Palamós, a fishing town close to the main communication routes that offers small-format meetings in unique places like the Carme Chapel or the Castle of Sant Esteve de la Fosca. The town’s landscapes, gastronomy and sailing activities are perfect complements for a programme full of surprising experiences.

Meetings among volcanoes

The Garrotxa region borders the Pyrenees and features a stunning natural diversity that combines captivating medieval towns like Besalú, mountain landscapes, centuries-old woodlands and some forty volcanic cones concentrated in the Natural Park of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone.

Built over volcanic rocks in the heart of this Natural Park lies Olot, the regional capital. Inside one of the town’s extinct volcanoes is the recently-built Espai Crater, a centre of reference for studies and divulgation on vulcanology that has spaces for corporate events of small and medium format. In the town you can also find unique places like the Cloisters of El Carme or the Hospice Building.
